While many of you may love the summer for making trips to the beach and the warmth it brings, fall has to be my favorite time of year. There is less humidity and a certain crispness in the air. Let’s not forget that trees have a lot more color then too. It just makes me want to get outdoors!
The Horton Mill Covered Bridge pictured below is located near Oneonta, AL. The one lane, state owned wooden bridge was built in 1934 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Although the bridge is maintained by the Alabama Historical Commission, I must say that I was a little nervous about driving across. How many wooden bridges do you cross during your commutes?
