I’ve been visiting Chakchiuma Swamp at least monthly for almost six months now and I still find it hard to pronounce and spell check is no better when typing. What isn’t hard to do is to see or hear something new with each visit. I’m not sure Robin Whitfield ever intended to put the paint brushes down temporarily to be a tour guide, but that’s exactly what she’s done with the monthly nature walks at the preserve.
My camera and I have witnessed groups of visitors from as far away as Illinois at the swamp and as close as my own household with Bryson tagging along. Yet many, even in the local area, do not know about the treasure that’s sits right beneath their noses. I hope you enjoyed the short video and hope you will take the time to view the many more images that can be found here. There are still several nature walks scheduled through the end of the year, so there’s still plenty of opportunities to tag along and grab your own. See you there!
